Products that last a lifetime.
Hi, I’m Murphy!
My interest in design began in childhood, when my mother and her business partner opened a home furnishings store that offered interior design services. I spent many afternoons, weekends, and school breaks spent at the store, on job sites, and visiting manufacturers which shaped my early love of the design.
I graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in May 2024 with a degree in Environmental Product Design. My studies emphasized user-centered design, product development, steps to bring a product to market, and hands-on skills like modeling, woodworking, and sewing. While in college, I completed study abroad programs in Northern Italy and Denmark. In Italy, I toured the work of architect Andrea Palladio and designer Carlo Scarpa. In Denmark, I had the opportunity to learn about Danish design from local designers, visit manufacturers, notable furniture collections across Scandinavia, built a flat packed chair inspired by our studies.
Since graduating, I returned to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and I am currently employed by a custom cabinet company as a builder and installer. I progressed from installing drawer glides to constructing cabinet boxes, performing installations, and serving as the company’s specialty builder.
